- Be a current member of CMAHC
- Complete an instructor application
- Submit a current resume and copies of a valid Qualified Operator certification. Acceptable Qualified Operator certifications include:
- Starfish Aquatics Institute AquaTech
- Watershape University Certified Watershape Operator
- PHTA Certified Pool Operator
- NRPA Aquatic Facility Operator
- Practical Pool Management +
- Current or prior certification as a Qualified Operator Instructor from one of the following:
- Starfish Aquatics Institute AquaTech
- Watershape University Certified Watershape Operator
- PHTA Certified Pool Operator
- NRPA Aquatic Facility Operator
- Practical Pool Management +
- Be a current NEHA Registered Environmental Health Specialist / Registered Sanitarian or approved equivalent
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience inspecting pools
- Have demonstratable experience with assessments, audits, and inspections of public and semi-public aquatic venues
- Have 10 years demonstrated experience the operation of, design, and/or maintenance of an aquatic venue
