The CMAHC is an organization that relies on volunteers to make the organization function and fulfill its mission and vision. This page acknowledges the contributions of the many individuals who have devoted their time to make the CMAHC a truly member-driven organization.
2014-2018
Michael J. Beach, President (CDC Public Health, 2014-2018)

Michael Beach is Associate Director for Healthy Water in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases and Deputy Director of the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases. He has worked at CDC since 1989 and oversees the Center's waterborne disease prevention activities including waterborne disease outbreak investigations and national surveillance for waterborne disease outbreaks, giardiasis, cryptosporidiosis, and free-living amebae. He created CDC's Healthy Swimming and Healthy Water Programs and co-founded the Model Aquatic Health Code effort where he was a Steering Committee member through its entire development.
CDR Jasen Kunz, Board Member (CDC Public Health, 2014-2018)
Commander (CDR) Jasen Kunz is a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service working at the CDC. CDR Kunz serves as the Model Aquatic Health Code Coordinator (MAHC) at CDC in the National Center for Environmental Health, Environmental Health Services Branch. He has worked at CDC since 2003 and currently is responsible for projects, which include recreational water, that focus on strengthening state, tribal and local environmental health services. CDR Kunz has specialized knowledge in indoor air quality, chemical safety, recreational water injury/illnesses, and the regulatory/inspection component of aquatic facilities.
2014-2017
Scot Hunsaker, Treasurer (Aquatics Industry, Provider, 2014-2017)

Scot Hunsaker has been in the aquatic industry his entire adult life. He recently transitioned the aquatic design firm Counsilman-Hunsaker to the employees and is currently President of the Board of Directors for the National Swimming Pool Foundation and is a voting member of the National Sanitation Foundation Recreational Water Facilities Joint Committee. In addition to Scot's aquatic work, he is managing partner of Ardent Group which helps company owners turn their employees into owners. Scot is also on the Associate Board of Directors of the Business Bank of St. Louis.
Colleen Maitoza, Board Member (Local Public Health, 2014-2017)

Colleen Maitoza, REHS is a 1981 graduate of San Jose University with a BS in Microbiology concentrated in Environmental Health. She has been employed in the Environmental Health regulatory community for over 31 years, most of which has been with Sacramento County Environmental Management Department (EMD) in Plan Review and as the Recreational Health Specialist. Colleen retired in March 2015 from her position as a Supervisor for the Plan Review staff and district field inspectors at EMD as well as the Recreational Health Specialist. She is a Technical Advisor for both CEHA and NEHA in Aquatics. Colleen also was a participating member of the Model Aquatic Health Code Steering Committee. She has been a Certified Pool Operator for over 17 years.
2014-2016
Tony Mendez, Board Member

Tony Mendez is the Vice Chairman of the Safety, Health, and Security Committee for the American Hotel and Lodging Association; he is a registered safety professional under The National Association of Safety Professionals, Certified Safety Trainer and Lodging Security Director and has published newsletters through these committees and independently on issues of industrial health and safety. He has over 15 years of experience in safety, security, health and public aquatic pool and spa industry within the hospitality environment. He has been Certified Pool Operator for the past 10 years. He has high level knowledge of federal, state and local safety, health environmental regulations specific to DOT, OSHA, EPA and DOH. Mr. Mendez holds a BS in Biology with concentration in Environmental Science from The Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. He is currently working for Bluegreen Corporation providing Corporate Safety Health and Security services to all its owned and managed locations.

Tracynda Davis, Interim President

Tracynda Davis holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida, with a concentration in Environmental Health. She was selected for and attended the inaugural class of CDC’s Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute. She has over 15 years of environmental and public health experience working in local, state, and federal health agencies crafting regulatory guidance and training public health officials on federal, state, and local regulations. She is Technical Advisor for Recreational Health for the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and serves as a peer reviewer for NEHA’s Journal of Environmental Health. In 2009, she published research on the sanitary condition of waterparks in the Journal of Water and Health.
Doug Sackett, Interim Vice President and Treasurer

Doug Sackett worked for the New York State Department of Health for 38 years and recently retired from there in April 2013. Since 1987, he was involved in the management of the statewide swimming pool and bathing beach regulatory program including the coordination of investigations of illnesses associated with recreational water and drowning at regulated swimming pools and beaches throughout the State and for the analysis of the data from the these epidemiological investigations. Doug is the Director of CDC’s project to develop a National Model Aquatic Health Code.
Bob Vincent, Interim Secretary

Bob Vincent is the Environmental Administrator, Bureau of Environmental Health, Water Programs Section, Division of Disease Control and Health Protection, Florida Dept. of Health since 2003. He is Manager of DOH Programs for Healthy Marine Beaches, Safe Drinking Water, Water Well Surveillance & Public Pools and Bathing Places. He has 30 years’ experience with the Florida Department of Health at local health departments and headquarters in administration and Environmental Health field work for many fields—public swimming pools, drinking water, food sanitation, onsite sewage, group care, zoonotic vectors, and epidemiology.
Jim Dunn, Interim Board Member

Jim Dunn is the Vice President of design and construction with Aquatic Development Group where he has had over twenty years of waterpark development and construction experience. He is also a registered architect in the State of New York. His responsibilities range from specific system design to overall project planning and management of the conceptual design and development of waterparks, aquatic centers, and specialty feature projects. Completed projects credited to Mr. Dunn’s leadership and skill include Camelbeach Waterpark; Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, St. Louis, Missouri; Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, Illinois; and Massanutten Resort Indoor Waterpark.
John Linn, Interim Board Member

John Linn is a registered engineer with an extensive background in water treatment systems. He spent his early years designing marine aquatic animal life support systems for major zoos and aquariums. Currently John is responsible for oversight of all capital execution for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. In addition, he has corporate responsibility for all water systems, including those at their five waterparks.

Colleen also is a participating member of the Model Aquatic Health Code Steering Committee and the Joint Committee on Recreational Water Facilities for NSF Standard 50. She has been a Certified Pool Operator for over 17 years.
